When comparing a reversible option, check how both sides are finished, how the garment feels, whether the shorts also reverse, and whether names and numbers are included on each side. Do not assume a reversible jersey means a complete reversible set.

Compare real fabric samples, not just the colour of a mockup

GSM means grams per square metre. It describes fabric weight rather than an overall quality score. A heavier material is not automatically better for every player or garment. Review the texture, reverse side, feel and drape, then assess a sample in the intended fit.

Photographs cannot establish moisture-management performance, durability or test certification. If your programme has a specific requirement, include it in the brief and ask what supporting information is available.

• Request the fabric code, composition and selected GSM in writing.
• Compare the fabric front and reverse, and review the feel against the skin.
• Approve a decorated sample if colour and print appearance are critical.
• Ask for garment care instructions for the final material and decoration.

Get youth and adult sizing right before production

A size letter alone is not enough to approve fit. Different suppliers may use different measurements for a medium or large. Ask for the measurement chart for the chosen design and confirm whether its measurements describe the garment or the body.

Collect each player’s size, name spelling and number in one roster. For youth basketball uniforms, have parents or guardians check the measurements against a well-fitting garment. If your order mixes youth and adult players, identify the size range clearly rather than using one size column without explanation.

Review jersey chest and length, shorts waist and length, and the preferred fit. A sample or sizing set can help your team decide before bulk production. Sample charges and timing are confirmed separately.

Approve colours, logos, names and numbers together

Send a clear club logo file, your preferred colours and the final roster. Describe sponsor marks and any placement requirements. The design proof should show the front and back of the jersey and the relevant details on the shorts.

For sublimated basketball uniforms, discuss the print layout together with the chosen fabric. Approve the spelling, number format, colour references and logo proportions before production. Screen colours can differ from physical materials, so request a printed sample when an exact colour match matters.

Check your competition’s uniform requirements

A custom design should be reviewed against the rules of the competition in which it will be used. School leagues, recreational programmes and tournament organisers may have different requirements. Send the applicable rules to us before artwork approval, particularly for colours, numbers, logo placement and permitted design details.

For USA high-school teams, consult the current NFHS basketball uniform guidance and your state association or organiser. Do not assume that a mockup is automatically approved for competition. Our designs are not presented as NFHS- or AAU-certified.

Plan production and USA shipping as separate steps
